This policy explains what data BlockJobs collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. We try to keep things to the bare minimum and to be straightforward about what we do.
1. What we collect
- Account info: name, email address, and a hashed password when you sign up.
- Profile data: the avatar, job preferences, experience level, and any other fields you choose to fill in.
- Resume: the file you upload, stored securely on Cloudflare R2.
- Usage: standard server logs (IP address, user agent, timestamp) for security and debugging.
2. What we do with it
- Show you relevant job listings
- Allow employers whose roles you apply to see your profile and resume
- Send you account-related emails (password resets, important changes)
- Detect and prevent abuse, fraud, or security issues
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
3. Where it lives
BlockJobs is hosted on Cloudflare. Your account and profile data live in a Cloudflare D1 database; resumes live in a Cloudflare R2 bucket. Cloudflare may process and store data in any region where they operate.
4. Cookies
We use a single first-party session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
5. Sharing with employers
When you apply to a role, the employer can see your name, email, and resume. We never share your information with employers you haven't actively engaged with.
6. Your rights
- Access: view what we hold about you from your dashboard.
- Update: edit your profile and resume at any time.
- Delete:close your account and we'll remove your profile and resume. Email hello@blockjobs.work to request deletion.
7. Data retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we delete personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to keep records for legal reasons.
8. Security
Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms. Connections are encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Resumes are stored privately and served only via authenticated, signed URLs.
9. Children
BlockJobs is not intended for anyone under 18. If we learn that someone under 18 has signed up, we will delete the account.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced via email or a banner on the site.
